A fry, a popsicle and some frozen fruit
Hope you had a great Summer!
Hi everyone! It seems quite a few of you didn’t get my articles this Summer, boo. That has been a bit of an ongoing issue with substack, the software I use to send out these emails.
The solution for now seems to be to send out a little re-cap email.
So, fun, in case you missed any or all of these, here are all the articles from this Summer. I’m still dealing with the family situation so just these three lovely articles for you to enjoy.
👇
The Belgian fry
This latest one is all about the experience of eating fries in Belgium and why the Belgian fry is clearly superior to all others. A personal favourite, this one.
The best way to freeze the last of the Summer fruit
A shout-out to Lynn at Foodstak who posted this article of mine as a guest post last Summer, totally worth revisiting for those last bits and pieces.
Popsicles. A technique.
Lastly, a bit of thinking around how to make your own non-crunchy popsicles. This really is how I think about things when trying to make something and figure out how to replicate a taste or texture.
Features
I was mentioned by Kaila Krayewski in her Home Abroad HQ newsletter all about 25 writers living abroad in the UK. It’s alphabetical by first name so it’s a bit of a scroll but lots of people to discover from all sorts of different countries who live here in the UK.
That’s all!
I hope you enjoy all of these if you haven’t had the chance to read them yet and that you had a decent Summer and start of Fall.
For me, I was thinking about the Fall school holiday and that feeling of calm you’d have mid-week where you’ve recovered enough from everything and it’s not quite time to worry about school starting again. That would be lovely. You might even get a little slice of cake or something too!
Speaking of cake, there’s an apple loaf cake recipe in my Fall baking bundle that’s proven quite popular so far so we might revisit all that at some point, yay!
