The Fall recipe bundle is here!
It’s called ‘Belgian Fall Baking - Afternoon Treats: seasonal recipes for cakes, pies, waffles and pancakes by a Belgian pastry chef’.
The recipe bundle is all about Fall baking and has quite a few recipes all about the season and spending time with family and friends enjoying a slice of something.
When I think of Fall and Belgian baking, I think of pancakes and waffles and the prune pie connected to All Souls Day and making a lantern out of a turnip.
But also having a sweet treat with a cup of coffee on an afternoon during the school holiday, which is right now so great timing, or on All Souls day or just a random Sunday!
If you have older visitors you’ll probably be asked for some hot water they can ceremoniously pour into their coffee because yours is obviously simply just too strong…and some milk too, please.
This bundle has recipes for all different baking skill levels, from total beginner to more advanced.
I share all my steps and tips and tricks so none of these should be too much if you’ve baked a few things before.
While it’s all about things people would get from the bakery or make at home to share with loved ones, most recipes do make smaller amounts. Anything in a baking thin will of course allow for more slices because you have to fill the tin but the recipes where you don’t need a tin make the smallest possible amount. Perfect for just a few people and you can always double the recipe for a larger gathering.
The recipe bundle is available digitally in English and in Dutch and you can get both versions right here.
We’ve also got a print book too! Yay! That’s just the English version but you can get it here if you’re in the UK and it has a great feature that allows you to leaf through the first few pages of the book. UPDATE. Please see below for a lower-priced option available in more places.
I am still waiting to hear back about whether or not I can make the print book available to other countries but I’ll let you know if/when that happens.
UPDATE. The book is now available in the US and the UK in print for $11/£10. Send me a message if you’d like a print copy. It also includes a digital copy in case you’d like to get started baking right away.
All the recipes included in the bundle are true Belgian classics.
Things you’ll learn how to bake:
Brussels waffles
Leavened prune pie + pie filling
Belgian pancakes
Apple loaf cake
Mokken biscuits
The introduction also has me taling about the different recipes included, a bit of the history around All Saints and All Souls day, when you eat everything, how and why I like and included each recipe. Each recipe comes with a notes section with all my tips and tricks as well.
And if you’re like, wait, did you say Belgian waffle?, you should probably check out this article.
Because the recipe in the Fall bundle is the one for the authentic Belgian waffle, A.K.A the Brussels waffle, as it was originally introduced to the US in the 1950s💃.
So do check out the bundle if you had read my article on Belgian waffles and were wanting to make the crunchy and light Brussels waffle too!
And then of course come back here for the bundle!
If you have any questions at all, do let me know! You can reply to this email or use the ‘comment’ button below.
Unfortunately I haven’t had the chance yet to figure out exactly what the current situation is for people in the UK selling digital products to the EU. Most people seem to still follow the old pre-brexit rule of engagement determining the VAT nexus but being a Belgian citizen, I’d like some confirmation on that first. To avoid possible fines I decided to turn off payments for people in the EU for now. I love that I have people in a lot of EU countries who read my articles but you’ll have to bear with me while I figure that out.
And it’s of course not Fall across the whole of the planet!
Reviews!
Eustacia bought the bundle and wrote about baking the apple loaf cake and the mokken biscuits.
I love the photos Eustacia took of the cake so do go and take a look at those in her post as well.
Omg, Sarah, these recipes sound so good!
